County Qualifying

One of the highlights of the pool calendar is the IPA Inter County Championships in May. All year players from around the country compete to qualify to represent their county at this prestigious tournament.

The players who qualify will get to play for Leitrim against the best players in the Country. The qualifying system in Leitrim is as follows:

Notes:

If a player occupies more than one position in qualifying places 1-7, the place(s) will go to a wild card.

Senior County B Team

After the A team has been finalised, the following rules apply for B Team Qualifying.

Notes:

If a player(s) occupying position 1, 2 or 3 have already qualified for A team, then that qualifying place will be awarded to the next ranked player(s) in the pub league.

If a player(s) occupying position 4 or 5 have already qualified for A team or are occupying positions 1, 2 or 3 then that qualifying place will be awarded to the next ranked player(s) in the premier league

If a player(s) occupying positions 6 or 7 have already qualified for the County A Team or are occupying positions 1 – 5 then that qualifying place will go to wild card.

If a player turns down their qualifying place then that place will go to a wild card

Senior County C Team

The Leitrim Pool Association Executive will seek interest from players who want to represent Leitrim in the C section of the IPA Intercounty Championships. If genuine interest is there, trials will be held in the Drumshanbo Pool Hall and a manager will be appointed. To express an interest contact Gavin Donnelly or David McWeeney.
